La la la la

OK, so I should be writing my first MA essay on the rather dull subject of a media text that 'speaks to me', but I've decided to, for one night only, not to. I hope you wasn't expecting anything big then. My first week at uni was pathetic. Induction week. What is the point? We sat there like 5 year olds and were told that we should wash our hands otherwise we could catch the evil swine flu.

One good thing did come from induction week. We had a talk from Nick Pollard. That was extremely interesting, here was a man who ran Sky News and has worked with the BBC and ITN. We had a chance to probe his mind. So what was he asked by all of the budding first years? Yes, that's right. He was asked about what Rupert Murdoch is like. I mock them, but I actually wanted to know this too. Apparently he's a man who 'knows what he wants'. Obviously. I'm quite looking forward to all of the guest speakers. Coventry has been voted the best university in the country for guest speakers. Jon Snow will be there soon.

I start 'proper' lectures this week. Yay! I'm really happy with my module choices. Woo! Missing X Factor. Crap!
